We are excited to announce our Weekend Wellness Retreat at the stunning 42 Acres Retreat Centre in Somerset, on April 21st - 23rd 2017. This luxurious and magical farmhouse, nestled within a secluded Somerset valley, is a tranquil haven and the perfect environment to relax and recharge in. The pictures speak for themselves! We invite you to enjoy a weekend full of fun and meditative activities to help you Unplug, with an incredible team of hand picked practitioners who have partnered with us.

Our core mission is to encourage mindfulness around the use of technology, with the goal of achieving physical and mental wellbeing. Our only ask is that you leave all devices in your bedrooms, or we can take them off your hands for the whole weekend if you like. We do not allow mobiles, iPads or laptops in communal areas, and we encourage you to switch them off for the duration of the Retreat to enjoy the maximum benefit of truly Unplugging. There is a landline at the house for emergency use or if someone needs to get hold of you. In addition to a digital detox, the weekend will also be alcohol free to maximise the health benefits.

Friday 21st April


On your arrival you will be given a short tour of the property and be shown to your luxurious bedroom for the weekend. There will be time for you to freshen up and make yourself at home.

Once the whole group has arrived we will open the weekend with a family-style dinner made by our incredibly talented resident Chef, Mark Mabon of Lovechefs. Mark specialises in healing, healthy food and everything we eat during the weekend will be hand-made from fresh, local and organic ingredients. His food is truly delicious and nourishing.

The weekend's opening meal will be a great chance for everyone in the group to get to know each other and unwind at the end of your busy week. 

Saturday 22nd April


You will wake up feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep in the beautiful Somerset countryside. A leisurely and healthy breakfast will be served in the dining room. Once you have filled your bodies with fuel for the day, we will have a 2 hour long Yoga class in the Group Room, led by the renowned and incredible teacher Chloë Faulkner.

Chloë teaches at Union Station Yoga in Clapham and Yogarise in Peckham. Her wonderful warmth and energy are her immediate qualities, and that's before she has spoilt you to her inspirational yoga class! We feel incredibly lucky that Chloë is joining us for our Weekend Wellness Retreat. She teaches energetic, fluid vinyasa flow classes. Her classes are playful, dynamic, and mindful, and for this Retreat our classes will be for all levels. Yoga is incredibly healing for both body and mind, and practicing early in the weekend will open us up for maximum Unplugging.


After yoga has helped eek out all those aches and pains from your busy week, we'll refuel with another delicious meal. 

In the early afternoon we have our Foraging activity with local expert Greg Power from Blighty Bushcraft. Greg is Somerset born and bred, and will teach you lots about the land. We will explore the surrounding woodlands, and learn about what flora is safe to pick and eat. Our Chef Mark will join us, and whatever food we find, he will incorporate into our evening meal. Talk about eating local!

The late afternoon is chill out time. We can arrange spa treatments for you on the premises, or you are more than welcome to relax in the house, have a nap, read, do some drawing, explore the grounds or make use of the board games. Whatever you feel like doing!


After an adventurous day, we will come together again for another delicious meal cooked by Mark, including the goodies we have foraged. After dinner there will be the option to make a bonfire, or watch a movie in the Group Room. Then time for another restful night.



Sunday 23rd April


We will start our day with some Sound Therapy in the form of a Gong Bath. The session will be lead by Frome local Jotipal Kaur. This wonderfully meditative experience will take you to another place, and leave you with a rejuvenated sense of wellbeing. If you've never tried it, it's amazing! This will really help you to recalibrate and leave any stresses or anxieties behind.

You'll be feeling very zen in time for a healthy breakfast to set us up for our second yoga class of the weekend. Again this will be lead by the incredible Chloë, and will be for all levels. We will build on what we learnt during Saturday's class, and focus on Unplugging techniques to takeaway with you and call on whenever you need.


We will share our final repast of the weekend with another nourishing lunch, and follow this with a Sunday afternoon walk around the property's 700 acres of ancient  forest which encircles the house. It will be a chance to get some fresh air and stretch your legs, and round out a wonderful 'Unplugged' weekend. 

There is an optional Free Sunday Night stay at 42 Acres available at no extra charge.  You will be left to your own devices at this point, but it is an opportunity to explore the local towns and pubs, and extend your weekend staycation if you wish. We will provide free transport to the train station Monday morning at 11am.

Price and Availability

There are 18 spaces available on this Retreat and it is first come first served. The cost below is per person and it covers all activities, food and accommodation, as well as pick-up and drop-off at Gillingham or Frome Station. We have a range of accommodation options available. One bed in a three bed dorm : £280 per person
Twin or double room with shared bathroom: £325 per person
Twin or double room with ensuite bathroom: £375 per person
Deluxe master ensuite: £450 per person

Note: except for the dorm, these prices are based on two people sharing a room. If you would like to take a double room on your own it will be an additional £150.

How to get there

42 Acres is in Somerset near the Wiltshire and Dorset borders. Trains leave every half an hour from London Waterloo and go directly to Gillingham Station in just under 2 hours. There is also a direct train at 6pm from London Paddington to Frome which is only 2 hours. We will arrange pick-up from either station and drive you to the house, which is under a 20 minute car journey away. Alternatively you can drive, and there is free parking onsite.
