No Smart Devices Policy

As you know, redefining our relationship with our smart devices is at the centre of Unplug Experience’s ethos. To gain maximum benefit from your weekend of Unplugging, we will not allow phones, iPads or laptops in any communal areas. We ask that you either hand these in at the beginning of weekend, or alternatively please keep these in your bedroom. If you want to use the internet there is a wifi zone in one of the barns. It is very important that this is respected, so that all guests can really maximise the benefit of a device free weekend. There is also an emergency line at the house should you need it.

No Alcohol

In addition to being a digital detox, the weekend will also be alcohol free to maximise the health benefits.

You will not need any on you, as all expenses are covered! Unless you want to leave the property and buy something elsewhere.

What is there to do in the local area?

Besides numerous beautiful walks we are located 15 minutes away from Bruton where there is a Hauser & Wirth art gallery and delicious restaurants At The Chapel and Roth Bar & Grill. Frome is also located 20 minutes drive away with plenty of shops, cafes and antiques. Stourhead Estate is a 7 minute drive as well as Alfreds Tower.

    Spa Treatments

Please let us know if you would like a Spa Treatment during the weekend, and we will let you know what is available. See separate document provided. Please note, we cannot guarantee that there will be availability for services if you wait to book them when your retreat starts.  The best way to avoid disappointment is to book all services in advance before your arrival date.

    Environment and Sustainability

We carefully implement an environmentally friendly approach and the sustainable policy of the locations we hire for our Experiences. We encourage our Guests to act in an eco-friendly manner during their stay and ensure that they do not do anything that is deliberately harmful to the environment or that damages the reputation of Unplug Experiences. Eco-friendly behaviour that is encouraged includes reducing waste, reducing use of cars, making use of the recycling bins available at the Property and conserving the use of electricity and utilities.

Note about food from our Chef Mark Mabon

Everything is handmade and sourced as locally as possible from small scale, local, artisan growers and producers including:

    • World-class organic goat, sheep and cow dairy (many raw products)
    • 100% organic sourdough bakers including gluten free
    • Always pasture-fed, local, organic meat
    • Wild venison and other game from local estates and parks
    • Fresh line-caught fish from the UK coast
    • Always cold-pressed oils
    • Celtic sea salt only
    • 100% sugar free kitchen
    • *Chef's own sauerkrauts, ferments and pickles*

    Mind Body Spirit Books

At the moment 42 Acres are asking all practitioners to invite their guests to do a spring clean and bring with them any mind-body-spirit books that they no longer need/use/love and may wish to donate to 42 Acres.  They are trying to build their library shelves back up, since this wintertime several books seem to have wandered off with guests who have taken them home and not returned them. Thank you in advance for any help you are able to give with this :)

    Barn Owl Nesting

There is a barn owl nesting in one of the outdoor barns at 42 Acres. It is the one nearest to the fire. They have asked us to ask our guests not to disturb it. Hopefully we can sneak a peek!

For safety and insurance purposes there is a no-smoking policy inside the rental Property and smoking is only allowed in designated areas of all 42 Acres ground. For safety and insurance purposes there is a policy of no candles or incense use in any of the bedrooms at 42 Acres. 42 Acres does not accept pets and no Guest is permitted to bring pets into the properties without prior consent.
